41.9.5 Install and adjust the tool setter on the bench
The parallelism between the working plane and the bottom surface has been adjusted to 0~0.003mm before leaving the factory, you can use the standard wrenches and fasteners to Install the tool setter on the bench by following steps:
- Loosen all the M4 and M6 screws on the base. (Picture1)
- Put the M12 screw into the central hole of the base and joint the base and the T-slot nut
(Picture2) - Choose a right place on the bench to install the base and use the wrench (LW10) to fasten the screws. (Picture3)
- Put the main part into the base and then fastened all the M4 and M6 screws. (Picture4,5,6) Attention: Make sure that there is no scissel chip on the surface of the tool setter and the bench, or it will influence the parallelism
You can use this tool setter directly after installing it on the bench. If you find the parallelism can not meet your needs, you can make phone calls to the salesman of Harbin Pioneer for the method to adjust it. As it shown in the right picture, there are three adjustment mechanisms on the TTC200 tool setter:
- Deflection adjusting screw
- Pitching adjusting screws
- Screws to adjust left and right.
Please fastened all the screws after the adjustment.
41.9.6 Connect the tool setter to the CNC system
- The status of the output signal can be changed conveniently
In order to meet the different requirements of different kinds of CNC systems, the status of output signal can be switched by changing the polarity of the power supply. This method is a patent belongs to Harbin Pioneer, read the page12 for details. - Transmission and indication of the signal
When the tool setter touch the working plane, this TTC200 tool setter sent a switching signal to the CNC system through the cable (LA04-06A-C3) with the red LED on the body of the device light up. - Choose the status of the signal and connect the cable
As it shown in the right picture, the cable of the TTC200 tool setter has four cores: red, green, blue and black.
Logic status 1: Connect the red line to +24V,the green one to 0V, the black and blue lines to the input of the CNC system, the logic status of the output signal is a normally opened signal (default setting).
Logic status 2: Connect the green line to +24V, red line to 0V, the black and blue lines to the input of the CNC system, the logic status of the output signal is a normally closed signal.
The logic status of the output signal should be set up exactly so that it can be distinguished by the CNC
system. - Check the output signal of the tool setter
Before installing the tool setter, please connect the red line to +24V and the green one to 0V in the electrical cabinet of the CNC machine, power on the CNC machine, and then use the avometer to measure the resistance between the other two lines of the tool setter.
Steps: Touch the working plane by hands to trigger the tool setter (the Red LED light up) and observe the value of the avometer.
- If the value is “ 0 ” (picture 1), the logic status of the output signal is normally closed SSR signal.
- If the value is not “ 0 ” (picture 2), the logic status of the tool setter is normally opened SSR signal.
- Check whether the signal can be received exactly by the CNC system
Connect the black and blue lines to the signal ports of the CNC system, and then run the measuring program according to the following steps:
Run the measuring program, press the working plane by hands and remove hands quickly, this tool setter will sent a signal to the CNC system, observe the movement of the machine to see whether the signal can be received exactly.
- Check the progress of automatic measurement
When it is confirmed that the signal of the tool setter can be received exactly by the CNC system. It is suggested that you should run the program step by step and ajust the feed rate to low level for the first time. Press the emergency stop button as soon as possible when you find anything wrong.
After all the steps above are completed, you can measure your tools automatically in normal feed rate many times to get skilled.
41.9.7 Set the length and diameter of the tool automatically
The purpose to set the length of the tool is to establish the position relationship between the cutting tool and the surface of the workpiece. This tool setter is a elastic device with fixed height, which is installed on the platform of the CNC machine, when the tool touch the working plane, the position relationship between the blade and the surface of the workpiece can be achieved indirectly according to the relationship between the blade and the bench.
Steps:
Semi-automatic operation: Move the spindle of the machine in manual mode and let the cutting tool axis upon the center of the working plane, make the cutting edge 10~20mm upper than the working plane.
Run the tool setting program, the length and the diameter value will be set up in the CNC system automatically.
Automatic operation: Put the program of preparation and semi- automatic operation into one program to run.
Read the software specification for detail information of the measuring program.
41.9.8 Maintenances of the tool setter
- It is suggested that you should clean the working plane and the tool to make sure it does not have any metal fragment and grease which may influence the accuracy of the measurement before each use of this tool setter.
- If the tool setter is unused for a long time, before using it again, please run the measuring program in low speed to make sure that the progress of the measurement is right. If you find something wrong, please check out the reason and solve the problem before using.
- Cable will move with the movement of the CNC machine, so it should be checked regularly to make sure it is in good condition. If you find the cable, cable interface or the stainless steel jacket are damaged, please replace it in time, or it may cause the tool setter and the CNC machine damaged and other serious consequences.
Attention: TTC200 tool setter is a high precision device and it should be used and placed in a stable environment to avoid shock. The swinging mechanism has a certain life-span, do not press the working plane too much by hands.
41.9.9 Fault diagnosis
- When the tool setter cannot work normally, please find the reasons by following steps:
- Check the tool setting program to see whether it is correct.
- Check the status of the Red LED on the tool setter to see whether it can light up when you touch the working plane.
- Check the signal line (black and blue lines) between the tool setter and the CNC system by avometer to see whether it has output signal.
- Check the cable, plug between the tool setter and the CNC system.
- Check the power supply of the CNC system to see whether it is normal.
- When the precision of the tool setter is abnormal, please find the reasons by following steps:
- Check the working plane to see whether it is broken, whether it has metal scrap or other dust on the surface.
- Check the tool to see whether it has magnetism.
- Check the reset progress of the working plane to see whether it is normal.
- If you cannot check out the detail reason of the problem, or you could not slove the problem even if you find out the reason, please connect with the technical service department of the Harbin Pioneer. Tel:86-451- 82293947.
